St Kilda Beach
St Kilda is a remarkable place. It is situated on one of the
most picturesque points of the Bay a short distance from the
city , located southward from the city centre of Melbourne,
houses the exquisite St. Kilda Beach, Australia. It has been
one of the most admired seaside resorts for the tourists and
local people as well. It has safe sandy beaches, and yet for
decades was shunned by Melbournites because it was the haunt
of prostitutes and druggies. By the start of the1900s, St
Kilda had become the home of some of the wealthiest
Melbournians. On weekends, Melbournians flock here to walk,
cycle and skate along the palm-lined foreshore or to sit in
an outdoor café with a coffee and take in the panoramic
views of Port Phillip Bay.St
Kilda beach remains one of the
more popular Melbourne beaches close to the city centre. St.
Kilda Beach, Melbourne caressed by soft bay waves is a
popular haunt for those who love to swim and sunbath,
especially during summer time. Here you can also take part
in some of the fun filled water sports. If you are looking
for thrill and excitement then you could try windsurfing,
waterskiing, and kite surfing. You can also play beach
volleyball or simply watch some of the beach volleyball
tournaments organized here.
To get there you can take a tram from the
main city of Melbourne from Bourke Street, Swanston Street
or Collins Street
Brighton Beach
Home
of the renowned Brighton bathing boxes, Brighton is one of
Melbourne's safest and sandiest swimming beaches.
A feature of Brighton Beach, south of St Kilda, is the
number of brightly colored bathing boxes a short distance
from the water.
Stroll along Middle Brighton Pier, relax in beautiful
historic gardens or soak up magnificent city views. Nearby,
visit the historic Middle Brighton Sea Baths and many
galleries, antique shops, and exquisite seaside restaurants
and cafes for a visit to the beach with a difference.
Port Melbourne
The beach is narrow and the water shallow, but it is lined
with pedestrian and bike paths and visitors can stroll along
the historic Station Pier, once the arrival point for
boatloads of immigrants and now the departure point for the
Tasmanian ferry service. There is also a kiosk open year
round, the Port Melbourne Yacht Club and a small boats jetty
for anglers and boating enthusiasts. Just ten minutes from
the city by light rail, Port Melbourne is a relaxed enclave
that offers all the fun and excitement of inner city living,
minus the frantic pace! An exciting locale where Melbourne's
rich colonial history sits proudly alongside striking new
residential developments, adorned with dazzling foreshore
cafés, restaurants, and views…
13th Beach
13th Beach has a range of left and right
hander breaks with powerful and popular waves. As it is only
a short drive from Melbourne and Victoria's second largest
city, Geelong, quite a crowd gathers here in summer. One
section, known as The Hole can be quite dangerous on low
tide when rocks become a problem, while The Beacon has less
power but is safer. |
